Wonder how many people would be so over joyed with Florida weather if there was no Air conditioning.
Northern winters i dont mind,i'm seldom cold or uncomfortable, yeah you have to have a heater in the house for 5 months a year but i find it preferable to A/C for 9 months a year. The only complaint i had about winter here in Montreal was shoveling snow after a big storm which is an inconvenience i no longer endure as i moved to a high rise apartment with underground parking ..

I run my A/C every month of the year here. Sometimes i can go a week without running it here and there in the winter. Heat is almost never used. I used more heat this year pete than the last 7 years put together heather.

And how many people would like Northern winters without a furnace and humidifier? But the fact is we do have these so either proposal is just kind of silly for discussion.

It's been a long winter here in Europe looking after an elderly relative and we can't wait to get back to some Florida heat and humidity.
We've had enough of cold, damp, windy weather for a while.

Not me lee. Dry air bothers me. So the southwest U.S. is out. I am very picky and have a narrow window of weather i like. If i could have my wish for year around weather this is what i would pick. Highs around 72-74 , lows around 58-60 and dew points around 45-50. But i would like big changes for our winters with heavy rain, warm temps then make it super cold every 3 to 5 days from Oct till April. Then in the summer i would want a CAT 1 cane every month and a non stop southeast windflow where i could get rain at least 3 times a week. This crap of having a reverse west windflow all summer and going 2 to 3 weeks at a time with no rain and insane dew points gets old year after year. And i find warm and dry winters very boring with nothing but sun day after day jay.

So there is really no place on the planet that would make me 100% happy. Cuba comes close with the Canes and rain, but i would have to give up active and colder winters.

Sure you can, you just sit inside and do nothing And it's not like areas in north don't have hot summers either. It's been hotter in Chicago area than it ever has been here and humidity can also be brutal. I guess that's what's great with the US, plenty of diverse climates for everyone, or most everyone Florida isn't the right fit for everyone but it feels right for me.

But a few days of more heat pete don't make up for 5 solid months of hot weather heather.

Plus poor old Chicago can't high hat us one bit when it comes to our reverse west windflow bro. But they can sure high hat us in the winter.

The weather we have been having lately reminds me of San Diego weather which is my favorite climate...just can't afford to live there...you can start off the day in Encinitis on a breezy beach and drive to Rancho Sante Fe for some dry heat! Love it...to me no better place on earth!
