Naah. Wouldn't move back to Florida for anything. Wow, some snow in spring. How about 90 degrees on Thanksgiving? Why is that any better? Y'all can keep it, I did my 18 year sentence in Florida already

Umm there's something called a fire place lol. Humidifier? I don't own one.

Lets be real, before AC, south Florida was an under populated swamp not very different from the Louisiana bayou backwoods. AC what was kicked up the population growth. Before that, the populatation centre was northern FL. Pensacola, Tally and Jax. Tampa was the southern most decently populated area.

Now, this isn't saying that tropical or hot climates aren't manageable, I mean my ancestors lived in hot humid tropical weather for hundreds of years with obviously no AC, but I'd rather deal with the cold myself. Its so easy to keep warm. (Plus I love REAL winters)

Highs around 72-74 , lows around 58-60 and dew points around 45-50. But i would like big changes for our winters with heavy rain, warm temps then make it super cold every 3 to 5 days from Oct till April. Then in the summer i would want a CAT 1 cane every month and a non stop southeast windflow where i could get rain at least 3 times a week. This crap of having a reverse west windflow all summer and going 2 to 3 weeks at a time with no rain and insane dew points gets old year after year. And i find warm and dry winters very boring with nothing but sun day after day jay.

So there is really no place on the planet that would make me 100% happy. Cuba comes close with the Canes and rain, but i would have to give up active and colder winters.

And a little something called "human rights"

The snowiest populated place in America this winter is in Upstate New York | NewYorkUpstate.com
Moved here from upstate also... Never had to deal with the crazy lake effect in Saratoga like what happened west of us, but MAN am I glad we are here and no longer deal with the bitter winter cold ... Our last winter was '14-'15 and do not miss it! My mother just went back up yesterday after ten days visiting with us and talked plenty about how cold she would be upon returning there.

Actually it was the East Coast railway which drove the massive population growth in Florida. It was many years after that before most people could afford AC.

Same here 6 years was enough I like Florida but just to visit would never move back I never got use to the inferno heat. I’ll take cold and snow and I have way better grocery and fruit and vegetable markets were I’m at. I have a couple of produce markets that are bigger than a Publix store with cheap and fresh produce, and i can buy my liquor and beer at the same time without going to a different section of the store like in Florida. I will come back maybe to be a snowbird but I doubt it were I’m at it’s booming amazon opening a couple more fulfillment centers buy us, IKEA opening another store by us, and Chrysler just added more jobs because they brought back the heavy duty pickups back from Mexico to be built here.

I had opportunity to move to Michigan due to job, after visiting there and looking for homes I just felt it wasn't the place for me, probably the last place in the US I'd want to live. I have family that lives there and they want to get out of there too. Glad you found your happy place and what's important to your lifestyle, guess it's nice that the US offers something for everyone.
