We are considering purchasing a home in Keystone - off of Brown Road and Mobley and I am looking to get feedback on some of those streets behind Van Dyke Farms. We are coming from south Tampa and are looking for more space which we will get for sure. However, there are a ton of kids where we live in south Tampa and we don’t to lose that. Since the schools are highly rated I imagine it does cater to families - but we also want a community where kids are playing outside and with the houses being about spread out not sure how much that may happen? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Well, kids definitely play outside in NW Hillsborough but I’m not sure about that specific area. It’s super family friendly overall though.

I find there are plenty of kids in the planned communities such as Van Dyke Farms, Wyndham Lakes, Villarosa, etc.. but less so in the unplanned neighborhoods. You may consider one of these communities if the kid factor is a high priority. The schools in the area are good, and I would describe it very much so as family-friendly - but without the "protected" streets of a gated or planned community, you won't find kids roaming freely. In contrast, when kids are headed to school (in my case, McKitrick, Martinez, and Steinbrenner), you will see many walking together or riding their bikes in groups.
