Need information on neighborhoods in Brandon.

Websites are helpful too if you know of any.

We are interested in a newer neighborhood/housing community w/ mostly military families, and it must be affordable.

Our budget is 100-135k.

Thanks.

That's hard, you aren't going to get just one area with a lot of military families. In your price range is hard as well, because you would have to invest in a forclosure. I would try anything in Providence Lakes or Sterling Ranch. Even Bloomingdale Woods would work. These homes were built in the late '80's early '90's and some have been remodeled. It'll be hard to find newer homes in that price range, even forclosures.

try MilitarybyOwner.com - Real Estate near U.S. Military Bases and type in zip codes 33510, 33511 (Brandon) 33594,33596 (Valrico) or 33547 (Fishhawk area) or the Riverview zip code (I'm not sure of it) as well as near MacDill AFB. The Bloomingdale area of Valrico might have something.

The $7500 is only offered to new home buyers and you have to pay it back. It's not a grant. Now as for new homes being built and huge incentives, I have been house hunting in this area (and also live here) and none will offer houses in the price range of $100,000-135,000. Only townhomes, but don't forget HOA fees and such.

Homes in for $100-130 in the Valrico area need a lot (!) of "help". I have seen most of them. Nothing around Bloomingdale. There are a few coming on the market in the next few weeks, which might be in "move in" condition.

Thanks for the info. My husband just spoke to his friend who also got transferred to MacDill and he is buying a 1800 sq.ft. home that's still in great condition for only $115,000.00. He said it was a short sale, but the deal sounds quite good.

My husband and I are in need of a Realtor to help us find good homes in Brandon. Does anyone know of any good realtor's?

Try looking in 33569 or 33568 (Riverview, So. Riverview).

Property Search

There are great deals right now. I think you can find something nice in that range quite easily. Here are a couple.... roll up your sleeves, do some painting and yardwork and they'll clean up nice.
