Ft. DeSoto beach, you can snorkle, rent a bike, rent a kayak, explore the fort and sunbathe.

Bush Gardens is fun, especially if you like rollercoasters.

The Florida Aquarium is nice for an hour and a half, then walk around Channelside. There are nice restaurants, shops, bowling, etc.

Call Calypso Diving (on Bearss Ave and I-275). They sometimes have diving classes (you can do just one) you can take in their indoor pool. I did that with my kids (10 and 13).

What else are you looking to do?

Plenty of spring breakers in Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach also. Could also visit John's Pass Village in Madiera Beach for shops/restaurants/small boardwalk/jet ski rentals.

If you can get tickets, you could also go to a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game in St. Pete(they're playing the NY Yankees Apr. 13-15 and the Chicago White Sox Apr. 16-18). Good times.

Plenty of shopping malls in the area with International Mall, Citrus Park Mall, and Brandon Mall apparently the shizzle with the teen crowd.

Busch Gardens is huge with spring breakers as is Adventure Island waterpark next door.
