Best PRIVATE elementary schools in Tampa and VPK?

citrus park christian school is a great school. Offering k3-12th grade including VPK. It is an excellent school! They are very friendly and loving. My children have attended for over 10 years. They are also FACCS accreditated and are possibly the cheapest tuition for private schools around.

Berkeley has the finest facilities to offer your child but it has its drawbacks. The teachers from 3rd grade and up seem to be the best ones in the school. The pk-2nd grad teachers are very hit and miss and not very nurturing. It is good for certain types of children but definitely not all children. It is also geared more for parents who want to drop off your kid and not get involved in the school. They do have special events where all parents are invited but it is hard to get involved in many volunteer only events, i.e. not everyone who volunteers for activities and field trips is selected. In fact the ones selected are usually always the obvious insiders. They also are on a big diversity kick so I don't know if the standards will stay high. Carrollwood seems much friendlier and is growing but still lacks some of the facilities Berkeley can offer. No other school in the area has the facilities of Berkeley but you have to weigh what is important to your family. Tuition at some of the schools seems to stay rather stable but if you do choose Berkeley note that the tuition will increase 3-4% every year and you also have plenty of extras billed monthly. I have also heard excellent things about Lake Magdalene's PreK program.

Academy of Our Saviour on Hillsborough is an excellent school and has the highest VPK score in Town and Country. Just a block west of where Berkley is. Very loving environment.
