Hi, I am getting ready to move to Belleair from KY and my grandparents are coming as well. I wanted to get some feedback on the best area for them, they do not need senior homes but I would like to find them a condo (maintenance free) or villa or patio homes (if FL has patio homes?!)in a senior community so hopefully their neighbors would be about there age and they could be active. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

How close do you want them to be to Bellair? Right next door or within easy driving distance, but with a little breathing room? There are many 55+ communities from South to North Pinellas.

There are actually quite a few senior communities near Belleair.
There is Pinecrest Place, The Barrington, Belleair Towers. These are condo/apt. They have an independent living side and then also an assisted living side. On the independent side, they will have their own condo/apt, with the option of community activities and dining hall. Not exactly sure if thats what their looking for-those kind of places tend to be a little pricey.

If theyre looking for more of their own place just around other older people but not necessarily in a "in your face community" then you might want to check out Union Villas on the Clearwater/Dunedin line (Union St)- my grandmother lives there and loves it!! It will be further from Belleair (about 10-15mins), but they could have their unattached villa (most are 2/2 with garage) but they would be in a 55+ community so they wouldnt have to worry about living next to some punks. There they have a community pool, some community activites and its only about 2 miles from the library and Dunedin senior center where theyve always got activities going on.
Theres also Port Belleair which are waterfront condos in Belleair Bluffs and a few others over that way I think that are 55+. The best thing to do would be to research active 55+ communities in the area

Good luck and welcome to Belleair

There is a fabulous over 55 community at Lakeview of Largo I am curently working with a buyer who is purchasing a 2/2 in there and its a good price. I would say they are some of the best run condos in the area close to Belleair and close to beaches/ right next to shopping and non flood zone.
Very WELL managed.
