I graduate in December with as a teacher. I am looking to get out of Florida for two reasons. 1) I hate our weather and 2) I do not care for our school systems or how the state government is handling the issue. I am looking into East Tennessee, a small to medium size town since that is what I am use to. Are there any areas y'all recommend or any areas I should avoid? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

Hi,

Please start your search by perusing the TN, Knoxville and Johnson City - Kingsport - Bristol forums. Lots of great posts there that will perfectly answer your question. Also, you can use keywords with the Advanced Search.

Good luck

No problem. You can't cross post in all of the forums so it is good that you posted in the main TN forum. People from all areas frequent this spot. Also, make sure you look at old threads where people have already posted. Not everyone checks this forum everyday so it could take a bit for you to get responses. In the meantime you can learn a lot by reading older threads.

I lived in Florida for ten years. Lots of places will fit your needs. I love Knoxville but the best thing to do is find a job and everything else will fall into place.

Small to medium towns will seem much smaller to you, probably. Small cities such as Knoxville seem more like a large town. Also, places like Knoxville can be a bit more welcoming, although that is a very generalized statement.

Small towns and communities usually don't have the best school systems, either. Places like Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Maryville and the much larger towns in the northeast area will be the best.

The weather is perfect, especially if you've lived up north and in Florida.

Beretta is correct. The search feature is fabulous.
