Hello. I will be stationed at Fort Campbell and would like to know the best area to live in. I’m a single mother of two intelligent and athletic children.

1) The area I’m looking for has to be diverse, suburban and low crime. Not sure if I want to rent or buy but I would rather live in a house over an apartment, unless they are more the 1700 sq ft not too expensive though.

2) I’m looking for a High school with no big issues (Bullying, drug problems, gangs), good academicallyand has good sports teams. I tried to look on US News for best high schools but the only one that I see starts in 11 grade Middle college at Austin Peay has a bronze rating. My Son runs track and my daughter plays Volleyball, Basketball and Track. The high school can be either Public or Private but preferably public.

3) Also would anyone know any good AAU Girls basketball teams that give exposure to NCAA recruiting tournaments?

I know I’m asking for a lot and I may not find all these things in one area but any help would be appreciated.

You want to live in the Rossview school district, somewhere off of exit 8 or 11.

I have several officers and ncos who live in my neighborhood, off of exit 11. Many people rent, so rent is high here compared to many places. Rent is in demand because of the military aspect.

Agreed. Its between the two exits. They are the highest ranking schools right now and there was an article in the local paper about them scoring well on tests. About 20 years ago it was the Northeast school area that was one of the better and private school was Clarksville Academy. If we would have orders to go home, we would live between exits 8 and 19 (since I grew up between 11 and 19).

Have you done any research on Hopkinsville, KY? Id recommend that over Clarksville any day of the week. While we lived there, our son wasnt old enough to attend school, so I cant comment on schools, but crime in Clarksville seemed to spill over to almost all areas of town. Never have I lived in a place where crime was so high for such a small-ish population. It was enough for us to pick up and leave. Good luck on your move!

State income tax and paying full tax value each year to tag your car?

No thanks, you can keep Kentucky. I'll shop for groceries on that side of the line, but I'll live in tennessee.

Hopkinsville high just had a boy raped, and its not a great school, don't get me started on county.
