Has anyone visited or lived at The Farm commune started by Stephen Gaskin in Summertown, TN?

It's one of the oldest 60's style communes and a few hundred people live there. Just curious, maybe it would be interesting to visit.

I've always been curious about it myself, even though I'm not the type to live on a commune Hope some folks respond to your post.

They made big news when they first arrived ("Hippies! Right here in Middle Tennessee!"). I think now it's a fairly staid communal farm. I used to hear about their midwife program, but I haven't heard anything about that in quite a while.

The midwife program is very successful. And, from what I've been able to read, they're financially stable and doing interesting things in other countries too. I was hoping some of the posters might have visited or lived there and have an idea about day to day life.

The Farm

From what I have read. You have to prove yourself to the elders before even getting land...and a home site.
