I agree and I've said that before.

I wasn't saying they were boring. They just aren't as.....uh.....colorful?? as Dallasites. Their culture very much represents that. The mainstream music is dull, the accents are monotone [MEN] and before you start; there will always be exceptions so don't give me that "My family or I don't act like that".

The fact that Oatmeal favors black Houstonians more proves my point. Her behavior and personality is the exact why my Houstonian family acts (except not as exaggerated and condescending).

I was saying that for any Houstonain who was planning on it (watch someone still do it, lol)

Exactly what I'm saying. I prefer chilling with Black Dallasites more. They know how to have a good time. Don't get me wrong though; Black Houstonians are cool too.

When it comes to deeming certain blacks as "country". It's not in the sense that they have an old west lifestyle or live in rural areas. It can really be another word for ghetto.

You put a black Dallasite with a black Houstonian and you will notice a distinct difference between the two. Black Dallasties tend to be more outspoken, loud and vibrant; whereas Black Houstonians are more laid-back, reserved and for the lack of a better word, dull.

I know this comparison is going to fly over people's head, but Black Dallasites remind me of Black New Orleans people (Behavior wise).
so po black folk are wild and unruly if they don't live near Massa??

just throwing some fuel on a possible spark. I know exactly what you mean, but that does not mean I can't torment you.

soooooooo, am I country because I live in between two ghettos?? lol

some white boys run along the paths all the time, I can feel myself getting more decountrified as each one goes by. they run by so frequently, by next year I should be able to get off the grits and cornbread

lol......I was just stating that when you're living in a community amongst your own people; you will become ignorant about things outside of your own culture and race.

Growing up in Waco; I once had a skewed view toward foreigners. I wasn't exposed to many cultures and didn't know much about them. Now I'm afraid to try anything that's not Mexican or American lol

I understand exactly what you are talking about.

With that said, first you said black folk are country if they live away from Massa, now you say they are uncultured without the influence??

Is your name Tom?? do people call you Uncle??

lmao. lol just messing with you man. I had a landlord from Dallas who was really unrefined. The black folk over there really do keep it real.

Well that's one thing I've noticed between Black Dallasites and Black Houstonians. I mentioned this in the Texas hip hop thread a few months ago. Houston is uptight and you can hear it in their music. It's just boring to listen to at times. Dallas is a more loose and again, you can hear in their music. It's funny to me that this is the case seeing as how Houston's club scene is pretty good.
