I think the problem is and always has been that people will go to school and get education enough to enter their occupation; but they have no idea of what kind of issues will surface in their lives.... They don't know themselves. It always floors me that in this society, we learn how to become teachers (or whatever) but we don't know ourselves nor do we learn about emotions so in essence many of us have some arrested development issues. It's sad. We only enter self-help (therapy) when a big problem comes up. Sometimes it's too little/too late.

I don't think this is an issue specific to Texas. It happens everywhere. 17-18 year old high schoolers look, on the outside, like adults. I do not believe it is unnatural for teachers to find themselves attracted to older high school students. But to act on it? Or even think about it for more time than it takes to realize it's wrong? Nope, completely inappropriate. The teacher should know better.

Pretty much. I think once you reach the age of about 16; you need to be held more responsible for your actions. These boys were well aware of what they were doing and did it knowing they wouldn't be held accountable for their actions. Seriously, they're 18 years old and older.
I feel bad for the children and father; such an embarassement to know that the wife and mother of your children is a........
