My husband and I just relocated to Waco and we are looking for a nanny. Just curious if anyone is familiar with the area and has any good place to start our search. Also any idea what the going rate for a good nanny in this area is?

My wife and I live in the Waco area and know a lot of fairly affluent families. I can't think of anyone who has employed a full time nanny. Housekeepers, landscapers, pool guys, caterers, yes, yes, but nannies? I just don't think it is very common. Waco Is much more of a stay home mom type of place for those who are affluent enough for nannies. It is full of hyper involved jr league type moms who do the coop preschools and that sort of thing.

In any event, Waco is a very small town when you start talking about things that require that level of affluence so it would very much be a word of mouth sort of thing.

Yeah, I'm sure Waco has nannies, but it's not common for a family to hire one. I did see a ad in the Waco Tribune Herald about a nanny service hiring in Waco. This was recent, but the agency name slips my mind.
