Hi-
I'm considering driving with a friend from my home in Dallas (McKinney) to Fort Stockton (we've never been there) with a possible stop at Old Mill BBQ & Burritos in Pecos that I missed last time, ending up at another friend's apartment in Lubbock for free lodging and then back to McKinney for 1,100 miles driven in 2 days as soon as possible!!

Thoughts on Old Mill BBQ & Burritos-Pecos, TX??

Thanks,
fallguy

Thanks for the warning. Next time I go to Fort Davis, I'll avoid it.

I do wish Pecos had something commercial going for it, though. It's withering on the vine. I've been there and it seemed like it could be a nice place to be.

I also wish Pecos had something commercial going for it. It is my favorite small town in Texas.

I have an old high school classmate who moved to Pecos to teach a bazillion years ago--and won't leave now that she's retired.

I visited another who lived there for a few years when her husband was transferred, and they were glad to be transferred elsewhere!

They are the worlds' best--and not nearly as common as they once were.

Presidio cantaloupes are a very close second, but the same problem is there--labor shortages.

It's the combination of alluvial soils and climate that produce that flavor.
