I am heading for Bossier City Monday and plan to leave a little of my Texas earnings in Lousiana....Or this may be the time I bring some Louisiana money back to Texas. Who knows?

I would look for gambling in texas anytime soon. Just look what it has done for La;still one of the poorest states.Seems not much of the money remains in the state really. If you look at where gambling goes in the restaurants and other businesses go down hill.Atlantic city is a good example;leave the boardwalk area and it is pretty sad.

Come to CA they're everywhere! but CA has all the indian reservations which is why they're there... TX has relatively few reservations.

DWong-The Indian Casinos in Cali. are usually in pretty remote areas. The card rooms are pretty much found throughout L.A. . Also, a flight to Vegas is only an hour and a half (gate to gate) .
Louisiana doesn't seemed to have been helped much. You could fit every hotel and casino in Lake Charles into Ceasars (in L.V.).
It's not the same when gambling is close by. When most people go to Vegas, they pretty much know that they're going to lose some money. In Lake Charles people seem to be trying to make their rent.
Gambling in Texas? I hope not.

I surely hope not. I was ticked when my small town went wet and if gambling is nearby, I'll really be upset.

You are right Texaswannabe. The Eagle Pass casino offers fun and alcohol. How nice...........NOT!!

So why does everyone think that there isn't gambling in TX? Eagle Pass is in Texas.

Well, the OP asked, "Isn't everyone tired of driving out of state?" Eagle Pass is a long way from most of Texas. It's nearly in Mexico, so I guess that would really be too far for the gamblers to drive unless they live in south Texas. So should they enjoy gambling that much, move to the states where it's rampant.

Why not ? It will save the travel time and gas. As well as put money back into Dallas, not the other cities.
