Doing my damndest to downscale my life and get back to Texas in 2013. Really enjoyed my time in Uvalde area and while it may not be the epicenter of single life, its perfect for me.
My questions are basic and many: I'll need to find some kind of job for basic living expenses. I have a small nest egg set aside. What are the employment opportunities there and best options for a home ...kind of would like to get a trailer on a couple of acres.

good luck trying to find a job there! I like it there too, but it's a pretty small town.

Get your CDL and drive a truck for the oil field. Eagle Ford play is booming south of Uvalde and I know they have held at least one job fair in Uvalde trying to get people. Historically, Uvalde County usually has one of the highest unemployment rates in the area, but with the oil related jobs south of there, I'm sure it has improved.
