I can't believe corn tortilla is winning by so much. You guys might as well just go to Taco Bell...

I go off this
Carne Asada Recipe | Texmex Recipes
I even make my own tortillas
Homemade Tortillas | Tasty Kitchen Blog

There is this place called Tornado Taco that serves Breakfast Tacos (i get Steak and Egg) and its surprisingly very good.

I will admit i do find myself going to TBell and getting a Doritos Locos Tacos supreme all to often

I chose corn but meaning the little soft corn tortillas from the little mom and pop places, not the crunchy ones like at Taco Bell.

Great thread, Nairobi...but I still don't know what is so wrong with crispy, corn, tortillas. Yeah, yeah, you say might as well just get 'em from Taco Burrito?

Balony! (but not in a taco!)

A good crunchy taco-shell as the "wrapper" -- made at home with your own blend of ingredients -- whatever they may be -- don't have nuttin' in common with one from a fast-food joint! (or at least past the superficial!).

EXACTLY. I doubt that many people on this thread are talking about those hard crunchy yellow "fake" taco "shells" that you buy in a store or get at a fast food restaurant.

The corn tortillas I'm talking about apparently are made out of white corn meal usually. They're smallish and soft, but they aren't floppy and fluffy like some flour tortillas. They've got a delicate taste, not a heavy one, and they are PERFECT for nestling some carne asada, green sauce, crumbled white cheese, cabbage, onion, fresh cilantro, and maybe a sliver of avocado. Topped with a squirt of fresh lime, of course.

Pass the Modelo!
