Heres some pictures from my trip to Austin and San Antonio I took back in July (I believe it was, lol, been to long). I just found one of the picture cards so I thought I would upload some. I am only 19 (well just turned 20 on the 9th), but it was an awesome experience.

Downtown San Antonio

Downtown Austin

Looking down Congress St. in downtown Austin and also back at the State building.

The bridge over Congress right next to our hotel in downtown Austin. Also one looking from the bridge down at South Congress

Heres some road signs. (You can tell they were having rain when we were there, lol)

Austin was an awesome place. The downtown had a lot of night life, especially on 6th street. Horse carriages, some fancy hotels, a lot of neat things to see in a downtown. San Antonio was more of a tourist city with the Riverwalk, RiverCenter, Alamo and such. If you ever get a chance to go to or close by San Antonio you have to check out the Riverwalk. It was amazing, all the restaurants, people, and stores.

Thanks for such an awesome forum! Just trying to help out others with pictures as I always love looking at pictures.

Hehheh... yeah, last summer here in Wichita Falls, Texas, we had about 10 inches of rain fall in a couple of weeks. Massive flooding across the east side of town, through the Wichita River, and through a very expensive subdivision. Saw those signs ALOT for a period of about a month!

Moderator cut: removed quoted pictures

Austin is looking good these days, but it's downtown is mainly clubs. San Antonio's downtown by far, more things too see and do for everyone, not just for tourists.

Enjoyed all of your pics. Austin and San Antonio are just fun places, aren't they? Both downtowns look great. I can't wait to include them in one of my next trips. And Austin will be a big construction zone the next few years. Even the San Antonio DMS signs warning the motorists about floods -- good shots.

Not a problem guys. I have enjoyed reading and looking at everyones threads so I thought I would take the time. Both places were very nice even with the rain that we had a few days. Local people in both towns were extremely nice and welcoming. I wish I could have spent more time to explore, but only being 19, a 5 day vacation was a lot for me and my girlfriend.
