You're not kidding! It's humid where I am (Harlingen) but I had a layover in Austin last week and I had to take my dog outside to do his business and the humidity hit me like brick in the face. It was terrible! Good thing my dog is a fast pee'er

I'm not a fan of heat, but with highs lately being in the high 70s and low 80s with little sun, it's been very nice.

The A/C (be it cooling or heating) is never off in my house.

It is technically 'on', but almost never is running due to the low temperatures. We kick it down a degree or two in the evening just to dry the air out a bit, then turn it back up to the normal set-point. Our bill will be awesome this month - both for water and electric .

The warmest I've ever been was up north in the winter going to college and one of the professors kept the classroom heater at 85 when it was 0 outside.

The coldest I've ever been was down south when one of my high school teachers kept the A/C at 62 when it was 105 out.

My body has learned to acclimate since I've lived and traveled all over the world. I can sleep in as cold as 58 and as high as 82 indoors without problems. When the power goes out, it really doesn't bother me. I guess I'm just one of those hardy souls.

Good for you. But most of the issue is humidity which isnt anything like the gulf coast up north.

And that's what makes places with a lot of it feel VERY cold in the winter. I've met all kinds of people from Michigan, Northern IL (Chicago), and Minnesota ***** about the cold down here. Wet cold is miserable. I go visit my parents in Denver in the winter and walk around in the same temperatures as here in a T-shirt like it's nothing whereas I would be cold as **** at home.

Huh? The cold here is normally dry. Colder air is automatically drier anyway. The only times its wet and cold is on foggy or rainy days. It is so much drier here in late fall and winter than in other places. You can tell by whether or not you can see your breath. In Atlanta in 50 degrees, you could see a massive cloud where here, it needs to get around freezing normally before you see a puff.
