Typical conservative "Personal responsibility" attitude = Blame liberals

How do you explain a 60% increase in ones insurance? Aren't the liberals in the driving seat right now? Or you're just in denial?

All US health care was 100% perfect before Obama came along.

Our medical system is in serious trouble.

ACA did fix serious issue of people being denied coverage for pre-existing conditions... that could be a death sentence and force people to sell everything in order to qualify for medicare.

However it did not fix the root of the problem, which is the cost of medical care. Insurance companies are purely a middle man with serious lobbying power. Pharmaceutical companies also made sure they did not suffer.

I don't really think the current setup will work, having working people be the only people to pay for people who don't earn enough is a great way to pit people against each other.

Many people haven't got a raise in several years. The employers are trying to keep up with medical insurance increases.

I think the boundary limits for purchasing insurance within your zip code should be removed. Off course certain counties or zip codes will have huge percentages of people buying insurance. Some will not so it has to be all mixed in together to make it a win win situation for everyone. At the moment if you are in an area where lot of people are buying insurance through Obamacare, you are simply in a bad spot because the options are limited and more expensive. A friend of mine got his blue cross from out of state and his options in TX are far more than what bcbstx is offering. Maybe they operate as separate providers but still it sounds as if getting insurance in certain zip codes or counties is a big disadvantage.

There are other important drivers too whom you're conveniently missing: healthcare corporations with their insurance companies and healthcare providers.

Since removing competition always leads to a decrease in pricing, right libs? This travesty is performing just as intended, to be a colossal failure, pushing out the competition and paving the way for single payer. The buck stops tonight.

A couple of points. Republicans control 2/3 of the branches of the Federal Government, including the ones that regulate the insurance industry. They also control a majority of State Governorships. So technically Republicans are in the drivers seat (liberal or not, I can't say).

Secondly, insurance companies are not an arm of the government and are for the most part publicly traded corporations, free to do whatever they like as long as they're in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

I'm amazed no one has noticed that Insurance is the ONLY industry to be exempted from Anti-Trust laws.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCarr...93Ferguson_Act

Surely, they'd like the idea of fewer regulatory burdens. As it is now, they have to deal with State Depts of Insurance for every single state they write policies in. The administrative headaches and costs alone would drive most crazy. Yet, never a peep, or complaint, or push to deregulate.

Could it be they, like the cable companies, actually prefer their oligopolies? No.... perish the thought!

But yeah, blame the ACA. Idgits...
