Hey y'all...I haven't posted in months on here...but I thought I'd give a quick update since I had someone PM me yesterday. I used to post about possibly moving to Belton/Temple area, and we finally did it! We closed on our house about a month ago...we live in West Temple but we are in Belton ISD. And honestly, we love it so far! They're building a brand new elementary school a couple blocks from our house as well which is awesome. Belton has an amazing 4th of July Parade! We just love love the town of Belton. And Temple has everything we need. I love that there is such good access to medical care there. We love all of the parks, and we really enjoy Lake Belton. They are definitely fixing up downtown Temple as well. There is lots of building going on as well which is a good sign. Anyways, just thought I would post this for anyone considering the area. My co-workers in Austin were concerned that I was moving to a total dumpy area but we really like it. I mean it's not West Lake Hills in Austin or anything like that but its a decent middle class area. Driving through on i-35 does not do the area justice.

Default Relocating Too

Hi OP. It's always nice to see an update after someone has actually relocated to the place they are considering. I am transferring to Temple within the next six months, so I'm researching the area. We lived in Fort Worth about ten years ago, and loved it.

We're looking to rent for a year or two, first, to get a lay of the land, then we're buying our "forever" house. I've heard a lot of negatives about Killeen, from a friend who used to live there, so we're steering clear of that area. From what I can see, so far, it looks like we want to stay west of the 35. I'd like to be near shopping, but not live where the homes are on top of each other. A dream would be to live somewhere where we could have a couple of chickens and not hear people noises... the constant hum of traffic or airplanes or dogs constantly barking or loud parties. I'm guessing I'll be driving in to Temple from somewhere just outside the town. It'll be fun to explore.

Does anyone have any input about the Woodland area? Or the area between Woodland and West Temple?

Thanks for the positive update OP!
