This is the discussion about the future of Hays-Guadalupe-Comal area. This area currently has 500,000 people and while a substantial portion of that growth is from the cities of Austin and San Antonio. The three County seats are all within 5-7 miles of one another essentially. I see in 20 years the growth that Williamson County gained with 400,000 people moving in roughly 20 years is even slightly replicated on a much smaller extent going southward (say 200,000 in 20 years which IMO is conservative), and development is literally at the edge and in some cases well within Comal and Guadalupe's reach. I can see these three counties all hitting a combined population of over 1,000,000 by 2040 (take in mind the area has grown 100,000 people in just 7 years). With beautiful towns like Wimberley and Canyon Lake, not to mention larger cities like New Braunfels and San Marcos. I can see these towns as well as Schertz, Buda and Kyle all taking off and becoming a massive mini-metro based around New Braunfels and San Marcos as well as the suburban communities already present. I don't think this will lead to a combined CSA or any of the like but it will be interesting to see how this beautiful area that has the benefits of wealthy suburban growth as well as beautiful towns and cities like Canyon Lake and Wimberley develop almost into a Fort Bend County+Williamson County+Collin County style development all in one area of Texas. I can imagine in 30 years a place like Zorn or Geronimo will be prime real estate for it's proximity to the County seas as well as it's location between Austin and San Antonio.
