Pretty well right.

Austin is fueled by domestic migration, predominately of the non-Hispanic white variety, but also of the Hispanic variety. Austin is topped off nicely with some Asian immigration.

Houston is fueled by international immigration and non-white domestic migration.

DFW is the meeting point between the two.

This is fair, I would specify Hispanic-American and Asian-American to not confuse with international migration. Quite a few California-Asians head to Austin for IT jobs.

Thanks to the OP for putting together those numbers. Really puts observations into perspective. Interesting take always

It's official, Austin's is the white Atlanta. Basically, the white mecca.

Houston is known for its prominent black culture, but DFW is attracting more black people.

DFW is really a jack of all trades when it comes to people (type, race, background) moving there.

Not really.

They still have a majority on non-white people moving in.

Yea it is more than the other 3 on a %, but we don't exactly live in Idaho now do we?

I would put Denver or Nashville more in the white Atlanta group.

In Bexar County, 19% of surrendered licenses were from California, followed by Florida at 8.4%. This is in line with state trends.

Travis County — home to Austin — attracted the largest group of Californians.

Comal County had the highest ratio of licenses surrendered compared to population. This is aligned with U.S. census data that show the population in that region exploding in recent years.

This website has an interactive map.

Yeah. Austin is healthily Hispanic. The fact that Austin’s Hispanic numbers are basically equal to white says a lot though considering this is Texas. Where Hispanics dominate the growth of every metro (except Austin)

DFW has the better economy and is seen as a better place for career opportunities than Houston. This usually the general response I hear when I hear Black transplants choose DFW over Houston. I've heard quite a few say Houston is better to visit from a Black perspective but DFW is the better area to live if you're focused on a career and settling down building a family.
