Since the word, in Spanish, means "Cottonwood," there are literally millions of them in Texas.

But, there is only one ALAMO and it sits in downtown San Antonio.

Of course there is only one original Alamo, silly.

I'm not talking about trees or streets, plazas or shopping malls. I'm talking about structures or recreations of the Alamo.

More people have seen the Alamo in movies then in real life, two of those movie Alamos are listed above.

Alamo Beer? A fictional beer from King of the Hill that became a real beer... Alamo Beer Company (it's brewed by Real Ale, BTW).

I don't have a picture of it, but there's an old motel in Denison shaped like the Chapel at the real Alamo on south Armstrong Ave. It's now used for very low rent efficiency apartments. Not surprisingly, it's called "The Alamo."
