I am just curious...I am moving to Dallas and I love it there. Race relations look decent. I have heard there are parts of Texas that are still segegrated and have that good ole boy 1920's mentality. What areas are those?? Can't believe in 2010 life in some places still think that way.

I know everyone is pretty much armed in Texas but a loaded gun, and moonshine and a racist is a bad combo....Just wanted to know what areas to avoid and what is not safe in regards to race relations.

Thanks

Yep. East Texas is it. A had a girlfriend from Dayton who has an uncle that owns a bar on the Trinity River and according to her, he doesn't serve black people.

Is that where they tied a black man to a truck or something like that???

I am just shaking my head to think that people can have such disdain for another culture or race....Sickens my stomach man.

They have a very hot place in hell for people like that....That's how I feel. I'm not a saint, but if I am thinking of the right incident....Individuals like that will meet their match with their Maker....Won't be a pretty site. Like I said there is a specifically very HOT location in Hell for people like that.

I live in East TX... and yes, I do think it's more racist than other parts of the state. However.... it's nothing remotely compared to the racist issues I heard daily on the news in Louisville, KY. (I was shocked at how everything was black vs white there, on the news.) My point is... TX (in my opinion) is not a racist state compared to many other states.

I heard that it is not just a black white thing but the latinos in texas are very racist against black people especially in San Antonio. That came from my friend who resided in SanAntonio for years until she could not take it anymore. What is the deal that it seems that many other cultures have very negative opinions about black culture/race?

I don't know why some cultures have such disdain for blacks?? There is nothing wrong with them. All races have your well to do whites, blacks, latinos, asians and then you have your trashy whites, blacks, asians, and latinos....

It depends on who you chose to surround yourself with. I think it stems from the media and the images that surburbia see of lil wayne or birdman or any rapper for that matter that talk jibberish and can't wear pants correctly. That is a poor representation of the black race I feel.

Look at our current President, He is not a Saint but he doesn't depict what MTV or BET shows what black men and women carry themselves.

I also think it comes from education or the lack there of. Even amongst whites same thing.... Some people have the mentality that because you are white that means you are right...Sorry that doesn't work around these parts anymore....

I think this country needs to get the hell over it...latinos vs blacks or whites vs blacks, hell whites vs whites...we all have melanin in our skin so what gives man...

I say listen to your intuition..if you get a bad vibe from anyone REGARDLESS of race stay away...
