Hello!

I'm in Houston. Because I have sufficient Scandinavian stock, I must now look for an area that is even more humid than Houston. This winter has been brutal to my skin. It cracks below a certain temperature, even though I have lotion on. My dietary allows me to handle the tropical humidity environment without a problem - my electric bill averages $24-25 a month.

If you go anywhere west of Austin, you'll be shocking yourself on anything metal you touch for the entire winter - one thing I like about Houston. Keep in mind; we have had snow three times in the greater Houston area this winter. Even Corpus can experience bitterly cold weather. You want it, you can have it. I want out of this cold weather. As far south as I am, I'm holed up during the winter for about 4 months solid. I have to wear my fleece jacket at work from about mid-November to about mid-April.

I'm considering wintering in Brownsville, since that is about the furthest south I can go without going to Florida, and running into vaccination/narcotráfico problems in México.

Stephanie - What is happening regarding the proposed "dome" over the city of Houston? I saw a documentary that included the architectural design and build challenges of such a project. Is that still moving forward?

Brownsville(same latitude as Miami!) is about as warm as south-central Florida, you can grow coconut palms there .
