Not sure how rare it is but it reminds me of the movie 2012 where extreme weather was happening in rare places. I always believed movies were a subliminal way to prepare our mind.
Extreme weather figured far more in The Day After Tomorrow than in 2012. In fact I don't recall any extreme weather in the 2012 movie, but in any case it took a back seat to the geological chaos. In The Day After Tomorrow there was huge hail in Japan, not tornadoes (but there were tornadoes in Los Angeles ).

Oooops. Thanks for the correction! I meant Day After Tomorrow, not 2012. One of my all time favorite movies.
Insane video. I can only assume the guy filming wasn't aware the power of the tornado. If it had moved just a little to its left, the window he was looking out of would have blown out instead.

Exactly. A applaude his/her courage but they might not have known the power of a Tornado. I was thinking abrasions the whole time watching. Lucky it didnt make a turn left. My guess is the windows across the way blew out because the roof tore off.
You can actually see the windows break.
Debris flys by them at .19 while the Tornado was still about 1/4 mile away..
I believe if that structure across the way wasnt there, their windows would have blown out from the wind but being on the left side of a Tornado is better then the right side.
