My comments are based on my personal knowledge, from conversations with Toronto Police Service officers, at multi force meetings. On breaks and at lunch, cops talk about their own area, and what is happening there. Its not information that is for "public consumption ".
A recent armed robbery of a cash truck, that resulted in one guard being shot four times. The three armed kids( all 18 years old ) were from the Jungle, at Lawrence and the Allen road. They are charged with attempted murder, armed robbery times two, because they also tried to rob the SAME armoured car, two weeks before. Is it a co-incidence that kids willing to shoot people, to get money, are living in THC buildings ? I don't think so.

I never challenged what you said - I said that even an area like Jane and Finch does not pose a problem to law abiding citizens - I grew up there, went to school there and vouch for the fact that 98 percent of the residents of J/F are hard working people who don't get into trouble. Toronto is the safest city of the 25 largest cities in Canada studied. Are there pockets of criminal activity in Public Housing, I don't deny that but those who get into trouble seek it and on a per capita basis T.O is a remarkeably safe city.
