My 03 Honda Accord is just about paid off (yeeah! ), and now I get to have some fun deciding which car to buy next. I actually love shopping for new cars.
I have been driving Honda Accord's for the past 10 years or so and am considering the new 09 Toyota Venza. Any thoughts on this car? I like the reliability of the Toyota and it comes in 4 and 6 cylinder. Consumer Reports was pretty kind to them on their recommendation.
I just want to hear other people's feedback on this.
My hobby over the last 30 years has been new vehicles. Test driving, buying...
My general impression on Toyotas v. Hondas is that the Toyotas are built a bit more for comfort, quiet & gas milage than Honda, but Honda is built a bit more for quickness and style.
YouTube has a few good reviews. I am liking what I have seen thus far.
The only negative so far is the blind spot caused by one of the rear pillars. We subscribe to Consumer Reports and I read a lot of their reviews. But I don't ever take one source as gospel.
I think this year on the web, they were showing people were rating the Camry lower than an american counterpart. And I think the Altima beat out the Accord for the first time in Consumer Reports. But Altima's are always more expensive than Accords.
I may bypass both Camry and Accord for this Venza. We shall have to wait and see it and test drive it when it becomes available.
That doesn't always work, sometimes they still won't let up.
Is the Venza considered a crossover? It's hard to tell lately, so many of them look alike.
The press calls it a crossover although Toyota doesn't. It is a third Camry, a third Highlander, and a third new development. It looks to me to be a station wagon with a higher profile (AMC Eagle).
My quick look at them was very positive and I would certainly consider one. (But the economy has destroyed my new car fund so I just finished repairs on my 11 year old sedan instead).
