It seemed as if Toyota had a better supply of microchips than most manufacturers as it was able to hold off on production shortfalls until the third quarter.

Toyota has made a big deal out of saying that every Toyota model sold in the US will have the option of purchasing a hybrid version by the year 2025. A new hybrid Tundra has been announced for next year with the Tacoma and 4 Runner to follow. The Toyota C-HR has a hybrid version sold in other countries, but not in the US.

However, when given the choice, most customers won't pay the extra money for the hybrid version.

Percentage of total vehicles purchased as a hybrid
  1. 10.7% TOYOTA COROLLA HYBRID
  2. 14.3% TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID
  3. 24.3% TOYOTA HIGHLANDER HYBRID
  4. 26.3% TOYOTA RAV4 HYBRID
  5. 6.4% TOYOTA RAV4 PRIME - PHEV

Toyota has managed to achieve a ratio of 25.2% of alternative powered vehicle to all vehicle sales only by releasing some models in the US as hybrids or fuel cell vehicles only.
  1. TOYOTA MIRAI
  2. TOYOTA VENZA HYBRID
  3. TOYOTA SIENNA HYBRID
  4. TOYOTA PRIUS HYBRID
  5. TOYOTA PRIUS PRIME - PHEV
