Do US cell phones work in Mexico?

How expensive is it?

Will we need a special plan?

There will be many family members in the same area (for a wedding), so being able to keep track of everyone would be good.

I use my iPhone everywhere I go. However, I keep it on airplane mode, so that I cannot receive/make calls through my plan but instead use the Skype app. This works very well and you aren't paying anything, since the calls are free and all you need to do is find wifi, something I've never had an issue with, even in Mexico.

None of us have iPhones and were not planning to take the laptop along.

Why don't you call your cellphone carrier and ask them?
