Actually, I agree with you. Not about N. Philly per se, but that if one can get past the normative and cliched ideas of beauty it's a rewarding experience.
Having said that, though: New Zealand - wow! I lived there years ago and was there for 3 weeks last year. Still dazzled by almost everything I see there, esp'ly along the coast.

I've been all over the world, so this is a tough one. So I will look at it from the point of view of where would I like to go back and revisit. And I would have to say that would be New Zealand. I would especially like to see how Christchurch has recovered.

^ I lived in homer for two summers. It is beautiful, but so are alot of small coastal alaskan towns .

For me any remote place is equally beautiful. Whether it's desert, grasslands or mountains, I always find it beautiful when there is no sign of human activity for as far as you can see.
