Okay, probably a silly question, but does anyone know if there is a limit on how many miniature containers of whatever we're allowed to take in carry-on luggage these days?

I believe the answer is however many you can fit in a 1 quart zip lock bag.

BTW, the individual container size limit is 3 oz.

correct. Remember, it is 3oz and not 3ml haha. It'd be pretty heard to measure out 3ml of everything using little pipets

A quart-sized baggie is the "sandwich size" one.

I just measured a quart-sized Ziploc bag. It's about 7" wide x 8" long.

That's how I operate. And I can't remember the last time the TSA asked to see it, but I always have it handy just in case. At security at our airport, there is always a recording saying "Please have it ready for inspection" but nobody ever wants to inspect it.

It's definitely larger than what I think of as sandwich sized. I usually use ones that are about 7"x7.5" (sorry, mine are metric--17.7 cm x 19.5 cm).

And you can't jam them really really full--you have to be able to see the contents without problems.

Oh, one other thing.. not sure if this affects you or not but the bottle itsself must be under 3oz. You can't have a tiny amount of something in a 4oz bottle, that wouldn't be accepted.
