I suspect you've had those experiences ... because they're the types of people who travel as you do, stay in the places you stay in, eat where you eat, etc. If I were you and was so bothered by these types of people ... I'd change my personal travel habits/preferences. There are other, better places to stay and frequent. Really.

I haven't experienced too many obnoxious people in motels, but as for loud, people who are enjoying themselves tend to raise their voices.

I can't see where flushing toilets or doors opening and closing could possibly be considered obnoxious. That's normal noise caused by nothing more than living.

It's the allowing doors to slam shut that's obnoxious. If I have to leave my hotel room very early or come in late, I try to be silent as I walk down the hall and make sure to close the door very quietly.
