Where can I book a last min car rental? In a predicament.

The WORST that I have personally encountered is during Easter week AND baseball's spring training.

Both times, the inability to get a reasonable rental car led me to head elsewhere.

The rates I just got for 12/19 through 12/28 amounted to highway robbery BUT the old supply and demand.
I went to each rental car website that is at West Palm Bch airport, husband doesn't like going off site, I about fainted, finally got decent air now crazy car rentals....went to name your price at priceline and got Hertz for 59 a day, the actual rental companies I was getting anywhere from 100-to 120 a day

When I travel, usually to Hawaii, I never book cars in advance. After I get to the airport I look up local car rentals not by the airport and they always have a great car at a great price. They come to the airport to pick me up and I can get a ride back to the airport after I drop off at their office. I've used many different car rentals, just call till I find one that has a car at a price I like. They always beat the airport price and are much nicer. If they have an actual phone book at the airport then I look at the yellow page ads and find the worst logo and worst ad or one liner. They usually have the best price and nicest people. And I'm not the only one doing this, when I get the ride back to the airport after drop off at their office the shuttle is filled with other tourists.
