Just realised coming back from the US that Melbourne is the most boring city in the developed world (best, trip)

After going 4 years around the USfor my job in oil industry(whilst going to New york for cousins) and returning back to Australia, Melbourne, I realise how fukn boring Melbourne is. We dont have much culture, the tv is absolutlely ****, where it seems like half of the shows are American ripp offs and badly done. The city is lifeless and too expensive. Fuarck. Should I stay in the US? Is the job market really bad. I dunno, i cant stand this place, the economy is great but the culture and vibe of the city is lacking in some serious life and diversity. Are there better cities around Australia?
Going to America i realised many of the cities are duller than expected and Melbourne is one of the best cities for it's size in the world. Why don't you move this to the Aus and NZ forum so people can give it a fair hearing?
What does the lack of television programming have to do with Melbourne? Especially these days when so much can be easily downloaded from online sources?
I doubt Melbourne has any more or less culture than most American cities. Few places globally can compare with New York but neither can most American cities as well.
Life is all about how you organize it and this is true wherever you live.

It's a very biased, juvenile opinion. I don't expect everyone to like Melbourne, but most people who visit love it. Many prefer it to Sydney. Compared to an American city it's size Melbourne is very vibrant, multicultural, and very busy. It's an alpha world city.
By the way the OP talks i don't think the OP appreciates much high culture. If you want great live music (all types) inc classical music, theatre, musicals, opera, tons of book shops (cultural capital of Oz), art, galleries.etc. Dunno what more you can ask for for Australia, I mean obviously we're not London or NY but for what it is you can get almost anything here.
I've been to many great world cities and still think Melbourne is one of my favourite cities in the world.
My first trip to Melbourne I found it boring, my last trip I found it far more dynamic than I remember from my previous trip, better than Sydney IMO.
All that being said, if I could move to Australia tomorrow, Perth it would be. Damn I love that place.
