Default Rota Spain

Many years ago (in 1965) I was drafted in the Navy and served for 2 years at squadrons based in the US.

I enjoyed listening to guys who had been stationed ( not just a ship stopping at port, but stationed there) at Naval Air Stations around the world.

They talked about the good and the bad places.

Rota Spain always got mentioned so very highly in comparrison to any other place in the world. In fact, the Navy knew this and sometimes offered that place as an enticement to get people to re-enlist.

Have any of you been to Rota Spain? Why do you think it is that it was the top rated place of people who had been stationed all over the world?

I too, was in the Navy, and had the opportunity to visit Rota on TAD in the early 70s.

A great place.

I went back there in the late 70's, as part of a driving tour of most of southern Spain. I found it just as good as I remembered it.
