I went to that place, The portion was small, so I ordered a bowl of ramen + a bun(delicious, but I didn't see that in Japan, weird) + a can of coke. With the tips and tax, I paid in total like $30? or even more? I don't remember, it's 2 years ago.
The parking meter charged 4 pounds per hour in Soho in 2004. Don't know how much it charges now.
But can be very cheap too. Won Kei Restaurant in Chinatown London charged 4.5 pound for a plate lunch that nobody could ever finish. But it was also the rudest Chinese Restaurant that I had ever been to (Asian treated slightly better than White). It is also one of the most busiest Chinese restaurant and has the largest White clientele that I ever visited. I guess those customers like to be abused.

Well, you chose to drive and park in the city of London, whom to blame.

The price in Tokyo is half of that in NYC.
Agree.
Food in Tokyo is fantastic and inexpensive.
People who traveled to Tokyo realize "Japanese food" in Japan is not similar to what is known as Japanese food in American cities at all. The japanese eat sashi like twice a year.
The best known secret of New York is that the best food is not really in the touristy parts of Manhattan, rather in Queens. Queens is a culinary gem where you can find almost any kind of food you want for much lower prices than Manhattan. In terms of cuisine Queens is incredibly underrated and I would say if you are a foodie Queens is a must-visit destination
