If you want a swanky experience, The Beloved Hotel in Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Mexico, is top notch..

I have been on probably 8 cruises and half a dozen AI Resorts. I much prefer the AI Resorts.

If we stay a week, we usually do 1 day of doing things off of the resort alternating with 1 day of doing nothing but lounging around the pool and the beach.

Could you give me an idea of the age range in the AI Resorts? I'm sure there's a wide range, and I'm sure that it varies between different resorts (and presumably, different price points).

All over the place.. Depends on the resort.. I'd personally prefer an Adults Only one. It depends on when you go as well.

My idea of Hell would be an all-inclusive resort.

haha...that's EXACTLY what I was going to post.

I never will understand the concept - setting up a resort in some of the most beautiful places in the world, and then totally removing and locking out all the soul, spirit, identity, and culture of that place.

Your idea of hell may be another person's heaven How does your response answer the o/p question?
People like AI as they know exactly what they will be paying, your food, drinks covered and no one says you have to stay within the resort your entire vacation.

We didn't in Cancun, would go right outside resort and get on the bus, go downtown explore.

Different strokes for different folks

Sonora Resort on Sonora Island, British Columbia. Absolutely amazing experience from the scenery, to the wildlife, service and food. I visited for a wedding and was thoroughly impressed.
