Petoskey, Michigan: I call this place God's country. It is truly a beautiful city with wonderful natural scenery surrounded by the majestic Lake Michigan/Little Traverse Bay.

London, UK: I enjoyed the history and architecture.

Mumbai, India: I was in culinary heaven throughout India, and Mumbai was no exception. Mumbai ranks above New Delhi and other cities I visited, however, in that there was greater variety in cuisine, particularly among seafood, which wasn't very abundant in New Delhi and some other places I visited.

  1. Park City, UT. Some of the best skiing in the USA with a great ski-town for after the slopes close. Plus, the Sundance Film Festival.
  2. Breckenridge, CO. Great skiing and a great ski town.
  3. Las Vegas, NV -- A foodie's paradise. More celebrity chefs per capita than any place else on the planet. World-class live entertainment. WSOP. Extraordinary rare Scotch. Plus, it's Vegas, baby.

I don't particularly care of the tall buildings or monuments there but the energy of the people rubs off on you until you take evening train ride out of Manhattan and see how tired everyone is.
It is interesting how a vacation can impact you. With NYC and motivation, like you said. Or with a beach and realizing you need to take more time to stop and smell the roses in life.

And yeah, I agree with you about the downside of NYC. The hustle and bustle is great until you want to relax or find a bathroom and realize what a hassle that hustle and bustle can be sometimes.

There are still so many places I want to see, but for places I've already been:

1) Bermuda. My go-to place for a long weekend- such an easy trip from NYC. Lovely beaches, homes, people.
2) Costa Rica- have been to different parts of the country but would love to see even more. Beaches, jungles, advantures(rafting and ziplining), great people.
3) Italy, specifically Venice and Florence, but would love a month in Italy traveling everywhere. I love the town squares where people gather, the old buildings, the streets, the food, the feeling.

3. Ireland

No particular order.
I'd only been to Nassau and Paradise Island before and just spent a week on Eleuthera. So different! We were sometimes the only ones on the beaches and could drive miles without seeing another car.
