I realize that you would have to travel a few hours, but have anyone purchased directly from a sawmill for their home improvement Projects?

I have used mills in small towns of Oregon for various custom / needed to match rough cut material.

There should be some custom mills in Heppner, OR area, or Dayton, WA.

Really depends what you want to build, and what raw materials will suit your needs.

I haven't, just because it's that much more trouble. I know of one at Wahkiacus, WA, and I am pretty sure they'd cut whatever I asked for because of long family friendship, but over two hours each way is a lot of extra energy put into it. If I lived closer I might.
