Is it me or do more law enforcement websites have online mugshots for all those who are arrested? I do not know if it is for all arrestees, but the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and other Sheriff's web sites have online mugshots of people arrested for various offenses. Now, what I want to know is our society moving in the directions of all mug shots and arrest information being put online? With these pay sites, you can already look up anyone's criminal history. But for arrests, mugshots and other detailed information; are we moving to everything going to be put online?

Only what the court have ruled is public information. Where i liove arrest have for a long time been shown on news reports on Tv when the case is a reportable interest to the reporters.Criminal convictions are public record as ruled by the courts.I have noted that more and more of these date sites allow you to check the persons criminal record thru their sites.I imagine it will get more and more national quickly.Police departments wil;l only make avaiable what is public inforamtion. that include such thnigs as probable cause affidvits for arrest;mug shot but limits criminal checks to convictions.Newspapers are one of the best sources for past arrest reprots really.
