I've read similar things about Susan Smith for a while. I think there is some truth to the affairs she had with security guards, I heard that many years ago and from various sources.
There's only one. Scroll down to see discipline, and work details. She has been 'clean' for the past couple of years, but she did have exactly what People reported back from 2010 to 2015.

Before that, and the SCDOC website only lists disciplines back to 2010.. She was having sex with guards and several wound up in jail due to it.. Not as part of their jobs.
Maybe, seeing the past two years, she's turning some kind of corner. She's possibly saving up for her parole hearing in 6 years. I suspect that she will receive parole at that time. I doubt she'll be able to remain in the state.. She'll have to leave to get away from the stigma if she can.
Is there any way she would get out on parole in six years?
Contrary to what she says, I do think she killed her children at least partly due to the failed relationship she had. Perhaps it was out of grief and frustration, as she probably realized there was no way to salvage anything with Tom.

Except for her appeal(s) didn't do research or much reading on Smith.

This gal looked for every loop hole and trial injustice she could find to appeal.
I remember when this happened, grew up in SC. Was all over the local news. Very sad.
