Jacksonville Florida is up to 35. Things have slowed down since January when there was 18 or 19 in that first month i wanna say. Jacksonvilles murder rate would be out of this world if the stats weren't so watered down by the county-city consolidation. Most murders happen in the original city boundaries which probably has a population of 100-120k today.

The severity of Jacksonville's murder problem is noticeable if you compare the murder rate of the Jacksonville metro area to other metro areas in the country. Jacksonville's large borders are actually an advantage statistically.

Wow, Savannah has 16? That's way too high for its population. Pathetic. The other Georgia cities are also too high for my liking.

Anybody know what San Diego is at now? It wouldn't surprise me if it was still at 0.

Isn't that really high for Birmingham? I grew up near Des Moines so I guess I'm use to that metro which always had around 10-15 murders for 600,000 people.

32 seems like a lot for a city of 210,000 when it's not even May.
