No one seems to have posted about this very tragic Canadian case.
5-year old Nathan O'Brien and his grandparents Kathryn and Alvin Liknes disappeared from the grandparents' home in Calgary, Alberta late June after a garage sale they had. Police later arrested Douglas Garland, who's married to a sister of Alvin if memory serves, and who had had dispute about patent for something they worked on together. The boy was at the wrong place, being left with his grandparents for overnight stay till his mother went to pick him up and found all three gone, with bloody crime scene. The bodies or remains have never been found. I remember during those days I briefly joined the websleuths (got banned before long for being less dumb than permitted lol). The speculations were very bone chilling.
A Calgary jury has found Douglas Garland guilty of three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of a five-year-old boy and his grandparents after deliberating for 8½ hours.
