Is tucson water safe especially during pregnancy? What are the other alternatives available if it is not safe?

I don't think you have anything to worry about, although it's generally a good idea to filter your water no matter where you live. I suggest using a Brita water container that you can buy from the grocery store. Bottled water (aka glorified tap water from Detroit) is a scam, and the cost adds up pretty quickly, so I would say no to that.

Not all bottled water is a scam. Naive / Evian might be.

Personally I wouldn't drink any tap water anywhere in AZ. I've been all over this state and it either tastes like slime or arsenic. Definitely (at least) filter your water. There are places you can fill up a gallon jug with filtered water for twenty-five cents.

I agree with the posters above. Either buy a Brita water filter or water container, or buy bottled water.

Arrowhead water seems to dominate here in the Southwest. It has no unpleasant aftertaste and seems pretty safe.

We use a Pur water filter on our faucet. It filters any funky taste.

When we first moved out here, we definately noticed a different taste, but the water in Maryland wasn't any better, especially during draughts when they'd pump from the Susquehanna River - ick!!

Any U.S. city has safe tap water, but the taste of Arizona water leaves a lot to be desired. Get your drinking water at the 99-cents store or, as stated above, for 20-25 cents/gal. at any supermarket vending machine, or get one of the many tap filters on the market now.

I didn't realize that Tucson has water. I haven't seen any. I just see sand and dirt.
