salivating...... I really do miss In and Out. If Sonic can come to California, then Der Weinesnitzel and In an Out can come to OK. And add in Trader Joes to that list too, please.....

Der Weinesnitzel pulled out of Oklahoma decades ago. I have no idea if they are good or not, but Tulsa's own Coney Island/ConeyI-lander is a Tulsa tradition only for almost the last hundred years.

Tulsa is the hamburger mecca, I don't know why we need more nationally loved chains, the ones that come here don't rock the world at all. Five Guys is pretty meh compared to Tulsa's burger places, Smashburger downright sucks, as does Sonic. Ron's, Fat Guys, Weber's, Hanks, Claud's, Brownies, Bill's, Freddie's, Linda Del Mar, even The Tavern, and many more are all far better.

I've heard a lot about In and Out.. what makes there burgers so much better? Seasoning, lean beef, what? I may go to the DFW area in a couple of weeks, so I'll have to find out what all the hoopla is about In and Out.

Well, they grill the onions and use a light chili flavor on the burgers. I've read they use high quality beef, but that was a while ago. They do a double burger with two patties and it not overwhelmigly meat. I liked their burgers more than any of the other chains. Since I have a wonderful meat market nearby now and I can make my own out of freshly ground organic beef, my own is my favorite.

The price was lower generally than the chains who were mostly walk in traffic since they are all drive thru.

I've been to a Dallas location, and I've got to admit, most of the locals in Tulsa do it better. I think there's a California-local-vibe thing to it that just makes more sense there. As stated, this is where beef comes from

BTW...speaking of sometimes bad is good just because it's bad...we could sure use a real Whitecastle...lol

The Cali Granolas and the northern Yanks can keep the national chains.

I'll go to my local Braums and get me a 1/3 pound with mustard & cheese and get it about 30 minutes earlier than In-N-Out. (I do like the Bible verses they put on the bottom of the cups at In-N-Out, however. Good idea.)
