Hello All. Can anyone share info on tax costs living in Tulsa? Maybe some basic formulas? Went to the Oklahoma Dept. of Revenue site; left it very confused. Have heard tax is owed on Income; Property tax includes more than your home and do they tax your dog? (LOL...JK) If anyone can give me an idea how much average wage earner, with average home & car doles out every year, it would be greatly appreciated!!

I can give you some personal experience with the real estate tax. We just (June 2006) bought a home for $235.5K in Tulsa's Jenks school district (but in the city of Tulsa) and our taxes for a year are around $3200. That works out to around $267/mo. If you need a recommendation for Realtors, we used Linda and Dan Brown of McGraw Davisson Stewart and were very happy with them. The best public school districts are Jenks and Union (areas 5 and 6) and a good real estate site if it ever comes back up is http://www.tulsarealtors.com where you can search for homes based on school district. There are private schools as well, but Jenks is to Tulsa as to what Deer Valley and Edmond are to the Oklahoma City area.
Good luck,
Tom
