Everything is staged, it's a TV show! And I'm okay with that!

That said, I have to admit that I've been really liking Slade - and I thought that Gretchen should just marry him - and accept the fact that they may never have BIG money. That's not so horrible! And I believed Slade when he said he was actually paying child support - just not as much as before - and that it was difficult to get it reduced, because it's been tied up in the courts. And since his son is sick, and there are huge bills, I can understand why a judge would be reluctant to reduce the child support. Especially when it's entirely possible that Slade might get a job again that paid well - real estate in Orange County is VERY different than it was before, especially the part of the business he was involved in - but there are still houses being sold - and for big bucks. He might get a well paying job again - and be able to pay his child support at the current levels. So I bought everything Slade was saying.

But then Tamra walked off stage, and made that call, and the mother of his son said he doesn't pay child support and that he's lying?

To me, that moment, with Tamra off stage, talking to Slade's ex was the biggest bombshell of the whole reunion special. Where before I thought Slade was a good guy, and just misunderstood, and misjudged, because he went from rich to broke - now I wonder if he's been lying all along? And if so, why? Why would anyone lie about something like that? It just makes no sense, and it makes me question everything about Slade - which makes me think he just cemented his place in the next season of the show! They have to be somewhat provocative and controversial to get airtime, and Slade is definitely that!

There was a moment at the party in the finale, right after Tamra threw the drink at Jeana, where she was telling Gretchen and some other people why it happened - and Gretchen very solemnly mentioned that's the way she felt, when Tamra did the EXACT same thing to her - and Tamra paused - and in that moment there was a chance for a truce - and Tamra agreed it was time to move on - and it was Gretchen who said she wasn't ready to just let it go, that she thought they still had issues to talk about and that Tamra needed to apologize. And Tamra's face got hard - and that was the end of that.

Gretchen had a chance in that moment to make things better - and she chose not to - and that's too bad.

Seriously? It's a TV show - they play out all kinds of private moments in front of the cameras. If they didn't there would be nothing worth filming. That's the whole premise of the show.

I have a feeling she's proud of that scene - and she should be - it was beautiful. And she'll probably show the kids herself - and most likely well before they're adults. It's court ordered that they can't watch Bravo now - but when they're teenagers? Why wouldn't she show them the DVDs?

You are right, but even though Gretchen hasn't forgiven her, Gretchen also hasn't brought it up. Tammy is the one who keeps bringinig it up (she did so at the reunion.)

I think the point that has been brought up (or others on the reunion was trying to clarify) was that even though Tammy won't show it to her kids or they won't be allowed to watch it on Bravo (because they aren't allowed to watch it ) they will find out from school or neighborhood kids about her mommy. If Tammy thinks she can keep them in a bubble, she really is stupid.

Yeah, I don't think Tamra believes that. I think she made the point so emphatically, about how the kids aren't allowed to watch, by court order - because Alexis was making such a big freaking deal out of the bathtub scene - and Tamra wanted to make it clear that she's NOT showing it to them.

But I'm sure she knows they're aware of it. How could they not be?

bouncethelight, I don't think all of the show is staged. You can't stage everything. If you think everything is staged, then you are wasting your time watching it.I find it disqusting that anyone would think a porno type thing like the bathtub scene is "beautiful" and for you to think it is ok for her kids watch it when they are older.... That's just sick! Something like that is only "beautiful" when it is in private.

I don't think it's "staged" or "scripted" but I am pretty sure that some of the housewives (or even others on reality TV) likes to up the ante just because they know they are on TV and are now a celebrity.

So you think that Tamara has lighting and a camera set up in her bathroom all the time? The show is definitely staged - and that's fine. The producers tell them, "you're having lunch with such and so today" and the women show up. It's not a big deal - it's just the way reality TV works. It's even called "partially scripted" at times... because it is!

It's very simple....if you are not ashamed to show it to your little children, then you shouldn't have an issue with the "scene" in question.
