I liked it and it seems to have just stopped running.

I watched it.
It's done. I believe they made ten episodes and ran nine. Don't know if the last one will ever air, or if it will be available online.

Why do networks do that? It's filmed, just show the thing!

I agree. I cannot imagine that one more week without "The Event" would have made any difference in the larger scheme of things.
